As your child prepares for the next stage in their education, either at Torwood Independent Preparatory School or other independent and state schools, here at Torwood Lodge Nursery we ensure that each child develops the right social and core skills.
As they prepare for finishing pre-school, children develop valuable social skills — simple manners and thought for others so that they can continue to grow in to confident and capable school children.
Each child enjoys a varied day here, activities involve indoor and activities as babies and toddlers in the 0–3 range. In addition to those activities; we have specialist activities aimed specifically to children aged between 3–5 years.
Our team of specialist teachers come in once a week to provide our 3–5 year olds with a range of activities. These include P.E., French, Drama and Dance. If you would like further information about when each takes place, please contact Deborah Morgan who will be happy to tell you more.
With a deeper sense of self, and an ever-deepening appreciation of the world around them, our children at Torwood Lodge Nursery are superbly prepared for Reception Classes and onwards in to Key Stage 1 education.
Information Communication Technology (ICT)
Our modern ICT suite and interactive white boards allow the children access to the most up to date technology from a young age. We feel that it is a crucial part of the early years to ensure children are introduced to these skills. ICT lessons form part of the weekly timetable from the pre-school year.
Forest school sessions last for approximately 2 hours, these take place nearby at Leigh Woods. At Forest School children learn to assess and manage risks and develop life long learning skills. Forest School has physical, social and health benefits.
