Torwood Lodge Nursery is a privately run nursery pleasantly located in Durdham Park, Redland, based on the edge of the Downs and ten minutes from the city centre. We provide a warm and friendly environment for children aged from six weeks to five years and are open from Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 5.50pm excluding public holidays (a 7.30am start is on offer for an extra payment).
Torwood Lodge Nursery is located near Torwood House School, which was established in 1915 and was at that time in Howard Road, Redland. It was originally run by two ladies as a ‘Dame School’.
Since September 1996 the School and Nursery have been under the ownership of Mrs Samantha Packer who is committed to ensuring that standards continue to improve and that Torwood House School and Nursery goes from strength to strength.
From the 1996 Caroline Louden has brought a child-centred focus and superb level of professional qualification to Torwood Nursery. As a Registered General Nurse, qualified midwife and health visitor, Caroline has continued to develop her professional standing to support the ongoing development of Torwood — recently awarded the Early Years Professional Status. From a high level of professional knowledge and experience she manages the largest of our nurseries — with a reputation that is unsurpassed in the area. Our families come back to us, and recommend us so the Nursery remains immensely popular — Caroline herself had two children at the Nursery.
Our ongoing and enviable reputation invigorates staff so the atmosphere throughout Torwood Nursery is energetic and happy.
'I echo Samantha Packer's pride, we really do have an environment where all children and staff are supported to be their very best and I am delighted to be a part of both the history and the future of Torwood Nursery.'
